Senior C#/SQL Developer

Take a look at our current vacancies below to see if we have an opportunity for you to come #swimwiththebest

£35,000 - £40,000 + Work from Anywhere and a range of excellent benefits!

Having enjoyed a year of extreme success (even during a pandemic!), we have an opportunity for another Senior C#/SQL Developer to join our Build team!

As one of the Top 50 fastest growing tech companies in the UK, the second fastest-growing technology business in Scotland, plus having been voted by users as the Best Recruitment CRM (twice!) as well as many other awards, Firefish is a real Scottish entrepreneurial success story.  We're riding a wave of success, but that doesn't mean we're dropping anchor where we are: we're continuing to innovate and grow.  Our business has thrived in these uncertain times, with new customers joining us every day, meaning more recruiters than ever #lovethefish.

As a Senior Developer in our Build team, you’ll be working on new product features and enhancements for the current and next version of Firefish. You’ll add technical development capability to the team and work on multiple sprint projects concurrently within an Agile working methodology, while also mentoring two or three Executive-level colleagues. There’s a high focus on business analytic skills and the ability to communicate accurate delivery timescales both to the Product Manager, and the business as a whole.

You’ll be joining a slick and successful team who are passionate about the recruitment industry and helping our customers to succeed. There are real opportunities for progression, and as a company Firefish encourages you to have your voice and take an active role in growing the business as well as your own career. The shoal is made up of friendly Fish who all love to see each other do well, so you’ll be joining a fun and supportive environment where there’s loads for you to learn and where you can share your knowledge with others, too.

So, what are we looking for in our next Fish?

  • You’re degree qualified in an IT-related discipline, or have comparable experience
  • You have a minimum of two year’s development experience in a fast-paced environment
  • You have experience in supporting a small team of developers in working effectively and efficiently
  • You’re fluent in ASP.net, C#, SQL Server, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS, with experience in Web Forms, Web API and Web Architecture
  • You have experience of Agile methodologies, particularly those supporting object-oriented analysis and design such as UML or SOLID principles

You’ll get bonus points if you have experience in R&D development processes, a keen interest in the latest web application techniques, experience of initiating and delivering continuous improvement initiatives and/or experience Angular JS (or similar JavaScript frameworks) and ASP.Net Web API!

If you’re looking to have the opportunity to make a real positive impact in a company where your work/life balance and career come first, this could be the perfect role for you!
